Waste-Reducing Design:

Stop wasting feed and start saving money. You will never have to sweep up spilled, ruined feed again with a Dine a Chook Chicken Feeder.

Instead of letting your chickens thrash and rake feed onto the ground, the Dine a Chook Feeder is designed so that chickens have to put their entire head into the feeder to access the food. With horizontal and vertical paddle technology, this means that your chickens cannot spill or waste feed, saving you money.

Rodent Resistant Chicken Feeder:

Rodents are attracted to the chicken coop for the easy access to food. By keeping feed off the ground and in the feeder, you can make your coop less attractive to rats, mice and even pest birds. Our feeders are designed to help deter rodents.

Weather-proofing System:

The Dine a Chook patented rain hood and gutter system was developed and tested in the tropical downpours of North Queensland. It works to keep the feed and feeding bay dry even in the wettest weather. Plus, our unique click-together design has no screws or joins to leak in the rain, so there is no feed spoilage.

Why we use ASA Thermoplastic:

Genuine Dine a Chook Chicken Feeders are made from ASA thermoplastic. Compared to PVC, ASA is significantly more resistant to environmenta stress in the outdoors and suited to chicken coops. It retains its gloss and resists cracking or deterioration in the elements far better that PVC. ASA is used in quality outdoor furniture because of its strength and durability in an outdoor environment. When buying genuine Dine a Chook, you are buying the best in design as well as construction and materials. Plus all of our ASA is UV treated for additional long-term durability.

How to get the most out of a Dine a Chook Chicken Feeder

We recommend using a pellet feed or a mash to get the most out of your Dine a Chook Chicken Feeder.

Scratch feed mixes are the grain mixes that look a bit like bird seed or muesli. Chickens like them, but the colourful, diverse grains encourage selective feeding where chickens only eat the parts of the mix that they like. Not only does this lead to nutritional deficiencies, in order to get the parts they like, chickens will try to scratch or rake the feed onto the floor, where it is wasted. Using a pellet or mash feed discourages selective feeding, leading to better nutrition, less waste and more savings for you.

Super Easy Installation:

Install your Dine a Chook Automatic ASA Feeder in minutes. The supplied mounting kit allows you to fit your feeder onto timber, colour-bond and wood. The rear mounting hooks are suitable for some wire-mesh.

Where do you put a chicken feeder?

This will depend on if you have a large chicken run or a small enclosure. If you have a small coop then it is ideally placed either outside the door or just inside the door. To maximise the freshness of chicken feed you should put the feeder out of the sun and elements. In a large chicken run, depending on the size of the flock you may put one feeder near the coop and another on the cage wire of the run in a shady position. In order to deter rodents, we recommend installing the feeder inside of a rodent-proof chicken coop.
