The right height for a 20 litre drum
A drum drinker works properly when the cups sit about level with the eyes of your smallest bird: low enough to reach, high enough that bedding and dirt are not scratched into the water. This stand does that job for the Dine-A-Chook 20 litre drum, and it is stable with a full drum on it.
Which height setting?
There are four positions for the base of the drum: 55mm, 125mm, 200mm and 275mm. The drinker outlet sits about 40mm lower than the base of the drum. Start low for young or small birds and move the drum up as they grow.
What is it made of?
ACM composite panel, the same material used in commercial signage, cut in Townsville on a CNC router. It is UV stable and corrosion resistant, and it replaces the older metal stand that needed tools to put together. This one slots together by hand.
Where should it stand?
On level ground, in the shade. In a dirt-floored coop, prepare a flat area or set the stand on paving bricks so it sits steady.
